NGC2371-2 planetary nebula

 

When the NGC was compiled, in the 19th century, this was thought to be 2 objects. Even the best telescopes must have only shown the two bright spots either side of the central star. Now even amateurs can photograph the true shape.The nebula is in Gemini.
